9-2-2010, 30DC Lesson 2 – The Phrase That Pays

Posted by Make Money Online on 9th February 2010

Hi Kelvin T,

Very important day today!

Day 2 is about understanding niches and micro-niches.

Choosing a market and selecting the best keywords to reach it are
where most mistakes are made getting a new online business off the
ground.

You MUST understand what niches and micro-niches are and how to
find good keywords to reach them. And guess what? In the Day 2
lesson, you learn how :)

There are six videos in Lesson 2:

WHAT IS A MARKET – GuruBob lays out what niches and micro-niches
are, how they fit inside a Market and how all of this applies to
keywords and internet marketing.

MARKET SAMURAI – Brent introduces the wonder tool Market Samurai
and takes you through setting up your first project and doing some
basic keyword research.

3 VIDEOS:  THEME WORDS, CATEGORY KEYWORDS & PHRASE vs BROAD – Anthony
from Market Samurai shows you how to drill down from a market keyword,
to niche and micro niche keywords using Market Samurai.

EMBRACING CHANGE – Karl talks about change and how to embrace it.
After all, the 30DC is all about change!

The videos together run about 60 minutes.

At the end of Day 2 you’ll understand what niche and micro-niche
markets are, how to identify quality keywords for those niches and
will have fully researched at least 3 of the 7 topics you chose on
Day 1.

It’s a busy day, so get to it!

9-2-2010, Blogging Should Be Done With Passion

Posted by Make Money Online on 9th February 2010

Blogging Should Be Done With Passion

Posted: 08 Feb 2010 07:43 PM PST

I started blogging my first blog post way back in Oct 2006 and back then it was just a hobby and interest to write stuff that I was learning online and it never occurred to me that it can make so much money as it has today.

There are hundreds or if not thousands of people starting new blogs everyday wanting to express themselves online or make money from them.

Here a common problem many bloggers faced during the start stage of your blogging journey. They fail to understand that blogging is not a JOB, it’s a hobby and passion which you want to update every week ( if possible daily ). If you treat it as a JOB, there would be high chance you will feel you are blogging for the state of updating it and you will end hating what you do daily.

When you are blogging during your earlier stage, money should not be the may objective or reason that you blog online because it will just fill up your blog with advertisement and products which new readers would never be interested in.

If you are the reader, would you want to read a blog filled with advertisements and blog reviews of products?

You should always start off your blog with great content and focus on grabbing quality readers to your blog and gain their trust before you start promoting them.

A good gauge for you to start with is to get at least 50 readers daily on your blog before you start promotion them stuff. If you have yet to track your hits till now, it time you start looking at it in your Cpanel or install a free service from Google called Google Analytics.

Tracking is a very important role in blogging as it the only way you know how far you have progress in your online business.

Another common mistake people that many people made is they simply give up within the first 3 months and it’s a real serious problem in today’s busy world where we got to work daily.

I may have repeated these tips a couple of times but still I see many have not follow my suggestions and receiving lots of email daily asking for help and wondering why they are not making money from their blogs.

Here’s the main reason why, you are far too busy trying new stuff everyday that you failed to find out what’s the actual cost of the problem?

Most often it can be either wrong traffic that came to your blog or you are simply not putting enough effort to get the readers that you want on your blog :)

So stop what you are doing now and look back at what you have done the past 7 days. Here’s a few questions to help you out.

- Have you updated the blog lately in the past 3 days? If not why?

- Have you check how many visitors are visiting your blog? If not why?

- Have you started promoting any products on your blog? If not why?

- Have you started gathering database on your blog? If not why?

I hope these few pointers will help out those few that are still stuck in making their 1st few dollars and I get lots and really lots of emails asking help in this area so I hope I have pointed out most of needed points for you here already.

If you have further comments you want to add on , feel free to do so below.

9-2-2010, Blog Marketing Makes Significant Contribution in Work from Home Businesses

Posted by Make Money Online on 9th February 2010

This is a guest post by Manimaran Rengarajan, to submit your article click here

Blog marketing is something that all blog owners do. They market their blog so that they can get readers, and make a profit from their blogs. Marketing their blog means to get it out there so that others that are interested in it can find it and read it. It is also a great way to sell things by using affiliate links and programs. Blog marketing can very well become a work from home business if that is something that you are interested in.

Having a work from home business by blog marketing would definitely entail that you have more than one blog. If this is something that you are considering, you will want to make a list of markets that your blogs can cover. You will find that your blogs will do best when you only have one market per blog. For example, if you have a blog about cats, you will not want to include anything on the blog about kitchen appliances. This is because the readers that read your blog and visit your blog to learn more about cats and what you have to say about them will not be interested in learning anything about kitchen appliances. Once you have overcome the relevancy issue, you will be ok. You can however, have a blog about pets, and then blog about all of the many pets that you want to include.

In order to make a living by blog marketing, you need to know every aspect of it. You need to know what needs to be done to get readers to your blog, how to write about the things that you are promoting and how to get it up in search engine rankings. Doing so will lead to successful blog marketing and making a work from home business income with it.

One big aspect of blog marketing is SEO. SEO is search engine optimization and it consists of optimizing your blog so that the search engines will find it and rank it as high as possible, which also leads to more traffic and leads from your blog. If you do not have time to learn SEO, and apply it to all of your blogs, hiring someone to do this for you might be something that you want to consider. Especially if time is an issue.

Outsourcing much of your work is something that you will need to get used to if you plan on making a substantial amount of money with your blogs. You may want to hire bloggers or writers that can write the content for your blogs, and someone else that can leave comments on other blogs with a link back to yours. Spread out all of the duties on a spread sheet and decide how often each thing needs to be done for each blog.

Blog marketing for a work from home business is not much different from any other home business. You are going to get out of it what you put into it. If you only put in a couple of hours a week into your blogs, you can not expect to make a full time income with them. However, being consistent and working on your blogs every chance that you get will pay off in the long run. You will also discover that there is no better feeling in the world than owning your own home business, and working for yourself.

Just remember to start small, and work hard. That is all you need to become successful at blog marketing and make the income from home that you are dreaming of. All of your hard work will pay off if you are persistent and keep it up.
